St Paul's Cathedral Evensong
On Monday 4th March, the Chapel Choir embarked on a journey to London to perform at St Paul's Cathedral Evensong. The opportunity to sing at such a prestigious venue, steeped in history and tradition, was incredible and truly a testament to all the effort which has been put into the choir. After months of rehearsals and practice, it was amazing to see our hard work come to fruition.
Upon our arrival at St. Paul's, we were greeted by stunning architecture and the majestic presence of the Cathedral itself. After a final rehearsal and a practice procession to the choir stalls, we were ready to sing. Our choir led the service by singing responses, canticles by Joanna Forbes-l’Estrange, Thou knowest Lord by Bob Chilcott, and Psalms 13 and 14.
The acoustics were sensational and being watched by around 200 supporters, including friends and family, made the momentous occasion even more exceptional. A special thanks to Mr Gooddy, our choir director for his dedication and enthusiasm throughout this process. The experience was truly awe-inspiring and something our pupils will never forget.
