Learning Support

We strive to identify children who require learning support as early as possible so that we can design a tailored education provision which suits them from day one.

Through the use of Individual Pupil Profiles, we provide a programme of support, referral and teaching techniques that allow children to receive the help they need quickly and effectively. These plans are developed in consultation with the child's parents, teachers, external specialists and with the child themself.

For some, the help given is on an individual basis. For others, group paired work is more appropriate. We liaise with outside agencies when necessary to ensure that help and advice given is appropriate. The staff in the department are well-qualified and dedicated teachers who specialise in Learning Support.

Although we do not have an entrance qualification to the School, we do assess children before they come to Monkton Prep to ensure that we can provide the education that they need.
