Monkton students are celebrating their outstanding A-level results.

This year’s cohort attained top grades across a wide range of subjects. Nearly 40% of students achieved A*-A grades, over 70% attaining A*-B with a 100% pass rate.

Among the many successes, particular mention goes to top achiever Callum K who joined Monkton Prep in Year 7 and achieved A* grades in Physics, Maths and Further Maths and an A grade in Chemistry. Callum has not only thrived in his academics but also on the rugby pitch as captain of Monkton first XV. His final year at Monkton coincided with his third successful season with Bath Rugby, culminating in being part of Bath’s first ever win in the U18 Academy League Final.

Another top achiever was Alex B, who is going to study medicine at Oxford. Alex joined Monkton in Kindergarten and has gone through the whole school. Alex got A* grades in Biology and Music and A grades in Chemistry and Maths. These impressive results are in addition to his three instrumental Grade 8s with distinction.

Lucy C got A* grades in Biology and Chemistry, as well as an A grade in Music. Similarly, Lucy adds these results to her two instrumental grade 8s with distinction. Lucy is going to Sheffield on an army scholarship to study European and International Law.

Chris L received A* grades in Maths and Further Maths, as well as two A grades in Economics and Physics. Chris joined Monkton in Year 10 and has thrived as an international boarder at the school.

Elijah G got A* grades in Economics and Religious Studies, in addition to an A grade in Maths. Elijah did not drop a single mark in his Philosophy paper, which is an incredible achievement.

Charlotte W got an A* grade in Maths and A grades in Physics, Chemistry and Further Maths. Charlotte is from a missionary family and joined Monkton for Sixth Form. She is taking a gap year to follow her parent’s footsteps, joining the Leaders in Future Training team in the USA.

Chris Wheeler, Principal at Monkton, expressed immense pride in the students' achievements, stating:

"We are incredibly proud of our students' exceptional A-Level results this year. These outcomes are a reflection of the hard work and perseverance shown by our students, as well as the dedication and expertise of our teaching staff.”

He added: “In a year marked by unique challenges, our students have demonstrated resilience and a commitment to their studies that will serve them well in their future endeavors."

The range of next steps beyond Monkton remains as diverse as ever. This year includes Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities, Music Conservatoires, Drama and Art schools, and the vast majority of  pupils securing their first choice offers.
