Two Monkton students who joined in Kindergarten are celebrating outstanding A-level results.

Alex B and Lucy C both started their Monkton journey at three-years old and are now celebrating A* grades at A-levels.

Alex, who is going to study medicine at Oxford, got two A* grades in Biology and Music and two A grades in Chemistry and Maths. These impressive results are in addition to his three instrumental Grade 8s with distinction.

On getting his results this morning, Alex said: “I am over the moon; it is honestly hard to describe how happy and relieved I am.” He added: “Monkton has looked after me so well and I am incredibly grateful. The holistic approach and community are similar to Oxford, which is why I’m excited and prepared for the next step.”

Lucy C got two A* grades in Biology and Chemistry, as well as an A grade in Music. Similarly, Lucy adds these impressive results to her two instrumental grade 8s with distinction.

Lucy expressed her delight this morning: “I ran out of my room straight away with happy tears. I was shocked at first but just so happy.” Lucy explained how much the music offering helped her during her academics: “I work well under pressure and my music exams just gave me more motivation alongside my studies”. She also said: “the teachers have been amazing for me. Thanks to them I have had so many opportunities during my time here and I am now ready for my next adventure.”

Lucy is going to Sheffield on an army scholarship to study European and International Law.
