Monkton pupils receive Oxford University offers

We are delighted that two of our Year 13 students, Julia and John, have received offers from Oxford University this week. Both students attended Monkton Prep School before joining Monkton Senior School in Year 9.

Julia, who joined Monkton in Year 4, is studying A Levels in English Literature, History and Media Studies and has received an offer to study History at the Queen’s College, Oxford.

“Monkton has been my second home and it’s been a really steady base for me to grow and change, giving me a source of stability. The teachers have helped me to discover what I like and have taught me in a way that works for me. I have different types of teachers for my subjects and it’s brought out the best of my abilities.”

John joined Monkton in Year 5 and is studying A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Design. John received an offer to study Engineering at Hertford College, Oxford.

“My time at Monkton has been amazing. I have always had an interest in maths and physics, but I have been able to really push myself here.” He added: “I was encouraged to do the Isaac Physics Challenge and apply for Oxford, so I am very thankful to the teachers for helping me get to this stage.”

Monkton are incredibly proud of John and Julia and we wish them every success at university.
