James Simons (OM 2013) was selected to play in the England Men's Open team at the recent Touch Rugby World Championships in Nottingham.

Played over 6 days from Tuesday 16th - Sunday 21st July, the Touch Rugby World Championships took place in Nottingham, with 187 teams from 39 nations taking part. James, who plays for club side Manchester Foxes, was selected for the Men's Open team.

His team played well in the pool stages, finishing third in Pool A. They then narrowly missed the Semi Finals after a 1 point defeat to the Cook Islands in the Quarter Finals. Well done to James and the team for a great competition.

Fellow OM Callum Sanders (2014) worked with England Touch to provide official photography for the tournament - some photos he took of James are featured below.

James left Monkton from Year 11 in 2011, but played Rugby for the School, and both Callum and James were both part of Grove House, so it was fantastic to see the former housemates reunited pitch and pitch-side for this tournament.
