Kids' Lit Quiz at the Prep

Monkton Prep welcomed schools and pupils from around the area to pit their reading wits against each other in the South West regional heat of the Kids' Lit Quiz, a worldwide annual literature competition for children aged 10 to 13. We were joined by a fantastic team of children's authors; Emma Perry, Nicola Skinner, Tracy Darnton and Emma Read, who were available to sign copies of their books and take part in the quiz, just for fun.

The quizmaster kept the pace up between rounds with quick fire bonus questions where pupils (and the assembled audience of teachers, librarians and parents!) could win cash prizes.

Our two school teams did us proud, with Monkton Prep 2 narrowly missing out on the coveted win by three points, coming an admirable second place.

It was a very enjoyable afternoon, celebrating the great pleasure we can all take in reading!
