Monkton hosts Bath Spa students for a coaching session

Twenty six Bath Spa University PGCE PE Students arrived at Monkton on Monday 17th September for a lecture on teaching and coaching from Director of Sport Kevin Morris.  The students main focus was to understand the complexities and challenges of teaching rugby to a variety of ages, genders, abilities and levels of experience.  The students looked at a variety of methodologies and how teaching and coaching continually evolves.  They were then put through their paces on Longmead where Mr Morris led a modelled session designed to show best practice and to challenge and preconceptions.  

Louise Riddoch, course leader said 'I just want to say thank you to Kevin for the great session this evening. It was hugely helpful for the students and will certainly give them more confidence if they have to teach rugby during their placements.  It was a great session for them to just enjoy 'playing' together. I really enjoyed it also!!'
