English pupils achieve incredible results

Last week was an important milestone for 74 of our Year 11 students as they received their results for their first GCSE in English which they sat in January.  Despite the unpredictability and disruption of the last two years they collectively achieved an incredible set of results, easily breaking grade averages nationally and within the independent school sector.

Highlights include:

• Every student passing their GCSE in English,
• 77% attaining a grade 7 (an A grade) or higher
• 27% attaining the highest grade of a 9 (an A**) against a national average of 4%.

"These exceptional results are an amazing testament to the hard work and tenacity of our students; after the uncertainty of the last two years a return to normality in the sitting of external examinations is an important milestone.  Hopefully our students will now feel more confident in facing the rest of their GCSEs examinations in summer."
