In Honour of Elizabeth Chorley

As part of the World Book Day celebrations, the Pre-Prep was also delighted to honour their former Head Teacher Elizabeth Chorley who sadly passed away last year. Yesterday former heads, friends and colleagues as well as the entire current staff and pupils gathered in the library to officially name it after Mrs Chorley who was head for 22 years between 1964 and 1986. Two of her former pupils now Pre-Prep parents themselves unveiled a plaque in her honour and the Elizabeth Chorley Library was officially opened by her friend and former colleague Deirdre Greenshields.

Head of Pre-Prep Catherine Winchcombe said: "It was wonderful to connect with people previously associated with Monkton Pre-Prep and celebrate the life of someone who clearly made a very special impact on the school".
