Netball Tournament at Disneyland Paris
During the Easter holidays, a group of our Year 9 and 10 netball players headed on an exciting sports tournament trip to Paris. Over the course of the week, our students took part in training sessions, tournaments, coaching sessions with Superleague players and 'Disney style' dance warm-ups along with the other schools taking part.
One of many highlights from the trip included an expert coaching session with Loughborough Lightning and England Superleague Player Molly Hole, our girls had a chance to ask questions and learn valuable techniques to take back into their training sessions before the main tournament, which took part on the following day.
Displaying true teamwork, our Year 10 players (along with 4 Year 9s) were competing against U16 teams and had a couple of friendlies against U18 teams, which provided great exposure for them all. Both teams demonstrated some excellent netball skills throughout the day, with the U14s finishing 3rd in the Shield Competition!
After plenty of sport played, memories made, and patisseries consumed - the final day saw a trip to Disneyland Paris which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Well done to our participating pupils who represented Monkton so well in the event, and supported each other along the way to bring the best out of their team.
