A brand new pre-prep school has opened its doors at Monkton.
The £4.4million state-of-the-art building has been developed at the school site in Combe Down to provide children with an enriched curriculum, and the chance to experience subjects such as music and cooking in exciting new spaces.

The Pre-Prep building which includes a kindergarten, nursery and classes for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 also has a brand new library and learning space, as well as a cookery room with a fantastic view of the Bath countryside.
The creation of the new school has created a number of extra spaces for children too, with the school’s capacity rising from less than a hundred places to over 160.
The new Head of the Pre-Prep Catherine Winchcombe says, “We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming our children to the brand new pre-prep school at Monkton. This new building has classrooms which are bright and modern, and lots of wonderful outdoor places for children to learn and let their imaginations go wild.”
The children play in the play areas
The new building replaces the previous pre-prep school and now includes a stunning Early Years play area as well as an adventure playground, designated parking for parents and a new school hall which can also be used by local community groups.
Catherine added, “The new pre-prep sits right alongside the school swimming pool, all weather pitches and indoor gym, making these school facilities much more accessible. Our aim is to create a real community where children thrive in this wonderful space at the heart of Monkton.”
