Prep Boarding September 13 Week 1
Monday, 09 September 2013
Welcome to Monkton Prep's Boarding blog. Have a look each week to see how the boarders are getting on and what they have been up to on Sundays. This has been an excellent first week, everyone is pleased to see their friends again and new children are settling well and getting to grips with the routine. We topped this week off with a trip to Bowood House. We took a picnic lunch which we ate in the beautiful grounds, followed by some tree climbing and an energetic hour or so scaling the sky high climbing frames and shooting down the vertical death slide! (all very safe with safety nets at every step of course!). Then to the vast parkland for a few games of 40-40. Archie G won the first game by utilising his stealth manoeuvres to reach the base tree undetected! We then walked down to the grotto, admiring the waterfall and finding our way through the pitch black stone tunnel.
A couple of quiet minibus rides later and we were back at school for a delicious roast dinner.
A great day and an opportunity to let off steam before getting back into school on Monday.
