Many Monkton pupils - past and present - have benefited from the financial support that they have received from the School through the provision of bursaries. One of Monkton's key fundraising objectives over the coming years is to build a sizeable endowment fund which will enable bursaries and scholarships to be given on a sustainable basis to bright and able children and young people. Support is already targeted towards such children from families in full time Christian ministry or, those who are not able to pay the full fees.
A fundraising target of £20m has been set for this purpose up from its current level of around £1.5m. This investment could yield £1m per year on a sustainable basis, with the capital preserved. At current fees, this would be sufficient to fully fund around 4 pupils per year group, in the top 11 year groups in the school (Years 3-13), equivalent to 44 pupils per year, or around 5% of the school enrollment.
Gifts and pledges totalling £1 million have recently been received which has already given the launch of this fund a very substantial boost and injection of confidence.
Please consider supporting this Bursary Appeal which represents a lasting investment in children's education.
